The model is made in the family-run "Hummel&Hummel Schuhmanufaktur" by KangaROOS 100 percent by hand; every step of the process bears the label"Made in Germany". The small manufactory - just a few kilometers from the KangaROOS office in Pirmasens in the middle of the Palatinate Forest - has made it its mission to keep the regional shoemaking craft alive. Not only by producing locally, but also by selecting recycled materials, KangaROOS is committed to reducing the environmental impact of shoe production: The insole is made from recycled PET bottles collected during Ocean Clean-ups; the footbed from 86% recycled material scraps.

From the beginning, the intention of the small, family-run shoe factory was to bring together people who are passionate about shoes and create an outstanding product with joy and pride. Highly specialized shoe craftsmen work hand in hand with specially trained newcomers and refugees who have found a temporary home in the region. Passing on the knowledge of shoe manufacturing and preserving the shoe tradition of the family and the location of Pirmasens is immensely important, as is aligning the family business with regional production in a sustainable and future-oriented manner. Quality, both in the materials and in the craftsmanship, is the top priority in all work steps. Class instead of mass, quality before quantity.
