We care for a sustainable future
As a family-run company in its second generation, we think long-term and are constantly addressing the issue of sustainability. We want to manufacture our KangaROOS products under fair and as environmentally friendly conditions as possible and see sustainability not as a trend, but as a responsibility that we bear as a company.
With our KangaROOS Made in Germany models, we focus on regional production; with short transport routes and reduce our CO2 emissions by eliminating travel to production countries.
Our KangaROOS Originals collection has also become more sustainable: We have relocated our production site in Asia to a partner who also thinks sustainably. Since the fall/winter 2023 collection, we have significantly increased the proportion of recycled materials through new, innovative materials and technologies.

TESTED RESPONSIBLE MATERIAL
Material transparency and traceability are important to us! Therefore, we have strict requirements that every material must meet. We focus on sourcing certified materials where possible, such as recycled materials certified to standards like the Global Recycle Standard.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
All factories that produce for KangaROOS Originals undergo BSCI audits to assess and continuously improve compliance with social standards. Our production partners work with suppliers to achieve continuous improvement and monitor progress and BSCI assessments.
CHEMICAL COMPLIANCE
We take compliance with banned substances regulations seriously and follow the latest regulations and guidelines. We adhere to a detailed Prohibited Substances List (RSL) developed by SATRA, which lists the main relevant regulations for footwear. This list is reviewed twice a year to ensure it is always up to date.
LEATHER FROM LWG CERTIFIED TANNERIES
The leather we use comes from tanneries that have received the Leather Working Group's Silver and Gold Medals. This means that the tanneries have implemented strict environmental management systems.
