Cheaply mass-produced goods have long flooded the market, poor working conditions and inadequate pay for the people who manually produce our clothes have unfortunately been the norm in most establishments. The Fashion Revolution #Who made my clothes? sensitizes and asks the brands: where do my clothes come from? Where did my shoes come from? A particularly important and utterly reasonable question of transparency!
Parallel to the critical look at the production countries, the trend towards manufactured goods, the desire for value and therefore the interest in old craftsmanship is increasing. We appreciate how a good quality product is created, we are interested in the materials used and the number of individual work steps. This surely has a little bit to do with nostalgia but above all it has a lot to do with sustainability and the awareness of the value of a good product. We rather have less but more quality and durabilty in our pieces.
In our Hummel&Hummel Schuhmanufaktur in Münchweiler on the Rodalb, a small community not far from the former shoe town of Pirmasens - our home base ;) - we can clearly answer the question of the fashion revolution: I MADE YOUR SHOES!
Our team of highly specialized craftsmen and specially trained career changers, manufacture the finest sneakers, where every step of the work bears the seal Made in Germany. A distinction we are quite proud of.
The Fashion Revolution is real...
