DYNACOIL is a system for shock absorption and energy recovery that is built into the soles of many KangaROOS Originals and Made in Germany models. The basic material was developed by NASA and used for shock absorption in the astronauts' boots during the Apollo flights. DYNACOIL is a woven fabric with five coils of elastic, interlocking nylon threads. It is very light, incredibly strong and returns to its original shape after every impact.
KangaROOS NASA Aerospace Research and renowned researchers from the fields of orthopaedics and biomechanics have been reconstructing and further developing the coiled fabric for use in sports shoes since 1986. The fabric is filled with soft polyurethane foam and embedded in the inner part of the midsole. The strain on the ankles, knees, hips and spine is greatly reduced, while the muscles in the feet, legs, buttocks and back are activated, which improves posture and enables fatigue-free walking and good walking dynamics.
